Skip Tracing:
- Our skip tracing department consists of personnel
strictly dedicated to locating debtors throughout the country. They
utilize all the latest technology in assisting their efforts. We have
direct access to the 3 largest credit reporting services which provide us
with up-to-date credit bureau reports, social security searches, current
addresses and any name changes the debtor has used throughout the country.
- Also available are Axciom, Department of Motor Vehicles
searches, social security traces, outsourced skip tracing services and
Internet skip tracing sites.
- Two-phase process
- The first phase is handled systemically and involves
a database search on current addresses and phone numbers using directory
assistance, reverse address, etc. (via several databases which are
available to the collector.) The collector will also check for possible
employment if listed on the credit bureau. The collector may also call
1-2 creditors on the credit bureau if there is a contact or the trade
line is new.
- Skip Tracing Department carries out the second phase.
They will review the collectors work to ensure the first phase is
completed in full and will do an in-depth review of the credit bureau
and other skip tracing. For example, the skip trace area will perform
in-depth trade line inquiries, check public records such as tax
assessors, and may possibly check addresses with neighbors or landlords.
- While the account is in the second phase, the
collector usually continues to work the account to ensure the account
receives appropriate coverage. For example, if we are looking for a
place of employment and the collector has a residence number, attempts
would continue to be made to the residence while the outsource vendor
attempts to locate the employment information.
- Once a contact number is available, the accounts with
employment numbers are segregated into a category dedicated to
contacting the customer at the place of employment (generally called
during business hours) versus residential.
